The Cilento region, which has always been a source of inspiration for poets and singers and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the perfect setting to devise this large garden. ‘Great’ like the owners’ desire for a unique and private space where they can enjoy the pleasures of family living. The starting point of the design concept was to articulate the large flat space into a succession of charming “rooms,” each with a distinct identity. Relaxation areas, areas for dining or conversation, shaded by pergolas with old vines or fragrant roses, lead us to the vegetable garden characterized by square Cor-ten modules reminiscent of the typical geometry of the Italian garden. Among long rows of orange, lemon, and lavender trees, in a growing riot of colors and scents, one arrives at the tamarisk grove and one’s gaze glides over the large infinity pool wrapped in a green paradise of flowing, harmonious shapes. This garden is a perfect synthesis of naturalness, elegance and rigor, a colorful realm of multiple blooms where moving around is a pleasure for our senses.
