A small space shaped on a steep escarpment was transformed into a ‘room’ garden arranged on several levels, well connected to each other and in harmony with the surrounding space.
Blocks of local stone interpret, in the best possible way, stairs and sinuous walls highlighted by soft lawns, rich borders, cushions of greenery and flowers arranged according to a precise design idea that follows the thread of naturalness. Four level spaces furnished with small tables, armchairs and a delightful settee invite rest or conversation in the shade cast by the canopy of an old locust tree or chestnut pole arbor.
Adjacent to the dwelling we are greeted by a corner equipped with a sink, barbeque and a delightful stone basin enveloped in the myriad scents of aromatic herbs that mark the entrance to the workshop-studio of Rino, the owner who has expertly and tenaciously recovered an old pigsty. It was a real pleasure to create a garden to ‘live in’, original and rich in details, which fully meets the needs of the owners and their many guests.
