4500 sq m on a steep sunny slope, expertly shaped escarpments, arbutus, myrtle, pistacie and cysts, along with lavenders, helichrysums, santolines, sages and caryopteris, grass paths carved out among the shrubs, heady aromas wafting out on hot summer days: the essence of the Mediterranean maquis. Mediterranean scrub essences reign supreme, enveloping the house in a soft symphony of hushed tones. On the bright green lawn, the sharp shadows of old pine trees play. And then … as we skim the leaves to appreciate their texture, it is nice to follow the flight of butterflies as they perch on each flower. For our senses, a true triumph!
