From a steep escarpment …a garden

Upstream of a new dwelling a steep escarpment with a slope of about 4m in a small space. After a clumsy attempt at landscaping, the land was reshaped and the escarpment subdivided into three crags supported by sturdy chestnut pole palisades. A rich array of shrubs and herbaceous plants quickly covered the ground and fall back onto the walking path that connects the vegetable garden to the living corner of the house. Each season has its own scenery; spring and summer feature pink, fuchsia, light blue and blue hues; autumn and winter give way to textures of bare branches and leaves, from soft green to dark red.
